As a result of a tragic horse accident on July 1, 2009, 8-year old Montana Cowboy Cole Pelican lost his life. While most young boys dream about growing up to be a cowboy, Cole was one. There was nothing he loved more than to be out riding his horses or roping something. Cole loved to compete at youth rodeos and would take advantage of any opportunity to go hunting or fishing. The outdoors was a big part of his life. Cole's passion for living brought joy to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and "Cole never had a bad day."

While it is impossible to make sense out of a tragedy of this nature, it is possible to make his irreplaceable loss to his family a positive thing to other agricultural kids in need. Cole was a friend to all kids and this fund is set up for them.

Cole's Western Wishes is a non-profit organization set up for the sole purpose of providing help to agricultural youth in the Montana and Wyoming region. The organization was started with memorial donations made in Cole's name to the family. A trust fund has been established with Stockman Bank, and there are many short and long term goals.
